    Abstract

The strategy of inhibiting angiogenesis by targeting tumor vascular endothelial cells, thereby blocking the blood supply to tumors, has become a hot topic in the field of anti-tumor growth and metastasis. The VEGF/VEGFR2 pathway plays a central role in tumor vasculature. Blocking it may achieve the purpose of inhibiting the growth and metastasis of cancer. This paper reviews the progress in studies of the VEGF/VEGFR2 signaling pathway in terms of anti-tumor growth and metastasis.
