Shuigou(GV26)功能、定位及按摩方法
Course
The channel originates in the lower part of the abdomen below the umbilicus, makes its downward way through the perineum, then ascends along the middle of the spinal column, and reaches Fengfu(DU16) at the back of the neck where it enters the brain. I1 continues to ascend from Fengfu(DU16), along the midline of the head and passing the vertex, forehead, columella of the nose and the upper lip, then to Yinjiao(DU28).
The branches from this channel connect with the kidney and travel through the heart.
Shuigou(GV26)
Location:On the face,at the junction of the upper third and middle third of the philtrum.
Indications:Manic-depressive disorders,epilepsy,infantile convulsion,coma,trismus,puffiness of the face,deviation of the mouth and eye,pain and stiffness of the lower back.
Method: Puncture obliquely upward 0.3-0.5 inch.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The superior labial artery and vein.
Innervation: The buccal branch of the facial nerve, and the branch of the intraorbital nerve.
