    Effect of Bushen Gujing prescription (补肾固精方) on traditional Chinese medicine symptom of lupus nephritis

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Bushen Gujing prescription (补肾固精方) on lupus nephritis(LN),and the changes of traditional Chinese medicine symptom. Methods: Fifty-nine patients with LN were divided into two groups randomly, while the treatment group(37 cases) was treated with combined Bushen Gujing prescription and glucocorticoids, and the control group(22 cases) was treated with glucocorticoids only. The course was 3 months in two groups. Results: The symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine were improved significantly,such as trouble in hot, face flushing, erythema, backache and inertia etc. Meanwhile, the score of LN activity and traditional Chinese medicine symptom were reduced, and the complication and side effect were also reduced. Conclusion: The Bushen Gujing prescription can improve LN patients conditions and traditional Chinese medicine symptom,its effect is safety and reliable.

    Effect of Ligustrazine-contained peritoneal dialysate on rat peritoneal structure and function

    Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of Ligustrazine (川芎嗪)-contained peritoneal dialysate on rat peritoneal structure and function. Methods: Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into three groups. Except of control group,the other two groups received daily intraperitoneal injection of 25 ml of 4.25% glucose peritoneal dialysate (HGC group) or HGC plus 40 mg/L Ligustrazine (HGL group) for 45 days. Results: In HGC group,mesothelial cells detached from peritoneal membrane. The accumulation of Ⅰ type collagen and fibronectin on peritoneal membrane increased significantly comparing with that of control group.The drainage volume was significantly lower as compared to control group(P<0.05).However,in the HGL group,the accumulation of Ⅰ type collagen and fibronectin on peritoneal membrane decreased significantly comparing with that of HGC group, drainage volume was significantly higher as compared to that of HGC group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Ligustrazine may reduce the damage of the peritoneum caused by the hypertonic dialysis solution, and improve peritoneal structure and function during long-term peritoneal dialysis.

    Clinical controlled research of the treatment of supporting healthy energy to eliminate evils and clearing away heat and toxic material on the precore mutation in patients with chronic hepatitis B

    Abstract: Objective: To study the clinical treatment of the precore mutation of hepatitis B virus (HBV) with traditional Chinese medicine therapy. Methods: Eighty patients with HBV and precore mutation were randomly divided into research group(n=40) and control group(n=40).Research group was treated by supporting healthy energy to eliminate evils, control group was by clearing away heat and toxic materials for one to three periods in two groups. The change of the precore mutation, the ration of HBV-DNA and the HBeAg were observed. Results: Thirty-three patients in research group(33/40) and 12 patients in control group(12/40) had no precore mutation at the end of the treatment; with 12 months follow-up research in research group had no recurrence and one patient has recurrence in control group. 50.0% of the research group and 35.0% of the control group had no HBV-DNA copy, 55.0% of the HBeAg in the research group and 44.4% of the control group had changed to negative. Conclusion: Treatment of supporting healthy energy to eliminate evils has significant effect on the precore mutation in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

    Clinical study on levels of plasma calcitonin gene related peptide in patients with cervical vertigo during and after treatment of traditional Chinese medicine ionotherapy

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the changes of plasma calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) in patients with cervical vertigo during and after treatment of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) iontophoresis with oneway intermediate frequency current (IFC).Methods: Sixty-eight patients with cervical vertigo were randomly divided into two groups: oneway IFC treatment group(IFC group, n=34),composite salvia miltiorrhiza tablet (复方丹参片) add diphenidolum (眩晕停) group (control group, n=34). The levels of plasma CGRP in two groups were examined during and after the treatment. Twenty-five health subjects were chosen as the health group. Results: The levels of plasma CGRP in cervical vertigo patients〔CGRP levels in IFC group was (36.23±22.78) ng/L, in control group was (36.72±22.85) ng/L〕 were more decreased than that in health group 〔(52.26±18.53) ng/L,both P<0.01〕.It increased after treatment of TCM iontophoresis with oneway IFC 〔CGRP levels in IFC group was (50.12±20.62) ng/L, P<0.05,in control group was (44.52±23.36) ng/L, P>0.05〕. Conclusion: CGRP plays a role in pathophysiological and pathogenetic mechanisms of cervical vertigo.

    Influences of Baoshen granule(保肾冲剂) on nitric oxide, endothelin and calcitonin gene related peptide in rabbits with mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis

    Abstract: Objective: To investigate the protective effects of Baoshen granule(保肾冲剂) on the kidneys of mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (MesPGN) rabbits. Methods: Twenty-four rabbits were randomly divided into normal group, model group, and Baoshen granule treatment group. Changes of the levels of blood lipid, serum nitric oxide (NO), plasma endothelin (ET), plasma calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP), and pathology were observed. Results: Baoshen granule could increase the amounts of serum NO and plasma CGRP, and reduce the levels of total cholesterol (TC) and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) at 8 weeks. Plasma ET decreased after rabbits received Baoshen granule.The pathologic changes were abated significantly in the rabbits feeded by Baoshen granule. Conclusion: Baoshen granule may protect the kidney of MesPGN rabbits and decrease plasma ET; it may be a mechanism of this action.

    Abstract: Objective: To research the effect of treatment of warming yang, promoting blood circulation and resolving phlegm(温阳活血化痰法) on rat model due to heart Yang deficiency(心阳虚证) of coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods: Used high fat diet, subcutaneous injection with pituituin and stimulated by cold methods induce the rat to have CHD due to heart Yang deficiency. Moreover the effect of treatment of warming Yang, promoting blood circulation and resolving phlegm on the platelet aggregation were observed. Results: The group of the promoting blood circulation and resolving phlegm showed the evident difference with the model group. The plasma von Willebrand factor(vWF) concentration, the content of thromboxane B2(TXB2),the platelet aggregation rate,the molecular number of GPⅡb/Ⅲa and the content of platelet α-granular membrane protein(GMP-140) were decreased,the content of 6-keto-prostaglandin F (6-keto-PGF 1α) were increased in treatment group. Conclusion: Treatment of warming Yang, promoting blood circulation and resolving phlegm can constrain the aggregation of platelet.

    Effects of Puerarin(葛根素) on platelet activation and intimal thickening after vascular balloon injury in rats

    Abstract: Objective: To investigate the process of neointimal formation, the level of platelet activation, and the effects of Puerarin(葛根素) on them after vascular balloon injury in rats. Methods: Rat models of aortic endothelial denudation by balloon catheter were established. Rats were randomly allocated into three groups. Group 1 (n=24) served as controls. Group 2 (n=24) were given vascular balloon injury. Group 3 (n=24) were given Puerarin (50 mg·kg-1·d-1) from 1 day before injury to 28 days after injury. The number of platelet α-granule membrane protein-140 (GMP-140) and the process of intimal thickening were investigated at day 3,7,14 and 28 after injury by radioimmunological technique and histological method, respectively. Results: ①The number of platelet GMP-140 were higher obviously at day 3 and began to decrease at day 7 after injury. ②The migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMC) had existed at day 3 after balloon injury. The thickening of intima had begun at day 7 after injury, and they were more significant at day 14.The proliferation of VSMC decreased at day 28, but extracellular matrix increased and the intimal thickening continued. ③ When given Puerarin, the number of platelet GMP-140 and the migration of VSMC reduced, but the intimal thickening had no significant variation. Conclusion: The number of platelet GMP-140 increase in the process of intimal thickening after balloon injury. Puerarin inhibits the activation of platelet and migration of VSMC, but has no obvious effect on intimal thickening.

    Effect of salvia miltiorrhiza(丹参) on mitochondria function of intestinal mucosa in burnt rats

    Abstract: Objective: To study the effect of salvia miltiorrhiza (丹参) on mitochondria function of intestinal mucosa and oxygen radicals in burnt rats. Methods: Ninety-six Spregue-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into control group (A), burn group (B), treatment group (C). Rats in B and C groups were subjected to a 20% total body surface area (TBSA) full-thickness thermal injury. At different time points, the dynamic levels of cytochrome aa3, cytochrome C, energy production and superoxide dismutase(SOD) in mitochondria of intestinal mucosa were determined. Results: ①Two hours after burn, the levels of cytochrome aa3 in B and C groups did not change obviously(both P>0.05). Six hours after burn, they were much lower than that in A group, and the level of cytochrome aa3 in C group were obviously higher than those in B group (all P<0.05). ②From 1 hour after burn, the levels of cytochrome C, energy production and SOD in B and C group were decreased, and those in C group were obviously higher than those in B group (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Salvia miltiorrhiza could enhance the levels of cytochrome aa3, cytochrome C, energy production and SOD, which could obviously protect mitochondria function of intestinal mucosa and obviously reduce the oxygen radicals’ production.

    Abstract: Objective: To explore the effects and mechanism of acute gastric mucosal lesion(AGML) treated by integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. Methods: One hundred and twenty patients with AGML were randomly divided into treatment group (n=90) and control group (n=30).The conventional therapy (as cimetidine etc.) were the same in both groups, and the treatment group added to medicinal herbs regulating vital energy and invigorating the circulation of blood.The effects of treatment in two groups were observed. The level of DNA, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), ATPase in gastric mucus were measured before and after treatment. Results: The effects of relieving pain and the curative rate in treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group(both P<0.05).The level of DNA, PGE2 and the activity of SOD, ATPase in gastric mucus were increased by medicinal herbs regulating vital energy and invigorating the circulation of blood. Conclusion: Integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine has marked effects on AGML,and it may mainly relate to increasing the activity of gastric mucosal cytoprotection.

    Effect of Fangba Shaoshang ointment(防疤烧伤膏) on wound healing in rats

    Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of Fangba Shaoshang ointment(防疤烧伤膏) on wound healing in rats. Methods: Cutting-skin injures model in rats were created. Wounds were treated with Fangba Shaoshang ointment. At the same time, therapies with basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and placebo were thought as positive and negative controls respectively. Wound area and volume were examined at 3, 7 and 14 days after injury with the hyaline membrance tracing and measuring method and infusing water method. Tissue morphology was examined at 7 and 14 days after injury. Results: Treatment with Fangba Shaoshang ointment could alleviate inflammatory response, induce shedding of necrotic tissues, and accelerate the process of re-epithelialization. Conclusion: Fangba Shaoshang ointment can stimulate wound healing.

    Effect of Musk injection solution(麝香注射液) on CD62P and tumor necrosis factor-α of the acute cerebral infarction patients

    Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical effects and mechanism of Musk injection solution(麝香注射液) in treating acute cerebral infarction patients. Methods: Sixty-three patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group (n=32) was treated by Musk injection combined with Ligustrazine injection(川芎嗪注射液). The control group (n=31) was treated by Ligustrazine injection, and other 30 health adults were as normal group. Platelet CD62P,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukin-6(IL-6) were estimated by flow cytometry and electro-chemiluminescence. Results: The levels of platelet CD62P, TNF-α and IL-6 before and after treatment were all higher than normal group(P<0.05 or P<0.01),the level of platelet CD62P had positive correlation with TNF-α and IL-6.After treatment, the levels of platelet CD62P,TNF-α and IL-6 of Musk injection solution group decreased more significantly than control group(P<0.05 orP<0.01),the cure and noticeable rates of the Musk injection solution group was significantly higher than those of the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion: The action mechanism of Musk injection solution on acute cerebral infarction should be decreasing the activation of platelet and relieving the immune response and inflammation damage of central nerve system mediated by cytokines.

    Brain protection of neural synapses of Astragalus membranaceus Bge and Leonurus artemisia injection (黄芪益母草注射液) on ischemic rats

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the change of neural synapses on cerebral ischemic rats,and to discuss the possibility of the brain protection mechanism of Astragalus membranaceus Bge(黄芪) and Leonurus Artemisia (益母草,AL). Methods: Four-vessel occlusion model as cerebral ischemic model was selected. Electron microscope and morphologic computation methods were used in experiments. The indexes were pathological change of length of synaptic active region(LSAR),thickness postsynaptic density (TPSD) and quantity of synapse vesicles (QSV) of GrayⅠtype synapses. Results: The structures of synapses were unclear and LSAR, TPSD and QSV were significantly higher in model group than in control group. He structure was comparatively clear and complete and the three indexes of synapse were significantly lower in AL group than in model group. Conclusion: The basic structure is destroyed after cerebral ischemia, while Astragalus membranaceus Bge and Leonurus artemisia injection(黄芪益母草注射液) can protect the basic structure of neural synapses.

    Effects of Zhongfeng Xinglou Tongfu capsule(中风星蒌通腑胶囊) on excitatory amino acid in cerebral tissues of rats with acute cerebral ischemia

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of Zhongfeng Xinglou Tongfu capsule(ZFXLTFC,中风星蒌通腑胶囊) on rats with acute cerebral ischemia, and the correlativity with excitatory amino acid(EAA) in cerebral tissues. Methods: The rats with acute whole-cerebral ischemia were used as model, Huatuo Zaizao pill(HTZZP,华佗再造丸) was used as positive contrast.Seventy-two common Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, model group, HTZZP group and high-dose, middle-dose, low-dose groups of ZFXLTFC. ZFXLTFC and HTZZP were given via gastric gavage respectively. Stomach tissues were obstained,the contents of glutamate (Glu) and aspirate (Asp) in the cerebric tissues were measured. Results: The contents of Glu and Asp in the cerebral tissues of model group were increased significantly than sham-operation group(both P<0.01) after acute cerebral ischemia. The levels of Glu and Asp were reduced in the three ZFXLTFC groups (P<0.05 or P<0.01 ). The high levels of Glu and Asp didn't change remarkablely in the HTZZP group(both P>0.05). Conclusion: ZFXLTFC could reduce the contents of EAA in cerebral tissues of rats with acute cerebral ischemic. Its effect is better than that of HTZZP.

    Clinical observation on treatment of neuroasthma with budesonide combined with acanthopanax senticosus (刺五加)

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the efficacy of budesonide inhalation combined with acanthopanax senticosus injection(刺五加注射液) infused intravenously taken in treating patients of neuroasthma, and to investigate its mechanism. Methods: Sixty-eight patients of neuroasthma were divided into three groups randomly, treated with budesonide inhalation combined with acanthopanax senticosus injection infused intravenously (combined therapy group), budesonide inhalation alone (budesonide group) and acanthopanax senticosus injection infused intravenously alone (acanthopanax senticosus group) respectively for 2 weeks. The changes of clinical symptoms and pulmonary function before and after treatment were observed. Results: The clinical symptoms and pulmonary function were improved in all the three groups after treatment (P<0.05 or P<0.01),but the improvement was more significant in the combined therapy group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion: Budesonide inhalation combined with acanthopanax senticosus injection infused intravenously is an effective and safe therapy in treating patients with neuroasthma.

    Observation on curative effect of α-Xixinnao injection(α-细辛脑注射液) and Dengzhan Xixin injection(灯盏细辛注射液) in treating respiratory failure of chronic pulmonary heart disease

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of α-Xixinnao injection(α-细辛脑注射液) and Dengzhan Xixin injection(灯盏细辛注射液) in treating respiratory failure of chronic pulmonary heart disease. Methods: Sixty patients were randomly divided into two groups. Observation group(n=30) were treated with α-X ixinnao injection and Dengzhan Xixin injection, and the control group(n=30) were treated with western medicine only. Results: The total curative effect rate(96.67%) in observation group were higher than that in control group(73.33%, P<0.05).The improvement of clinical symptoms, blood gas and hemorrheology in observation group were all superior to those in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion: α-Xixinnao and Dengzhan Xixin injection in treating respiratory failure of chronic pulmonary heart disease have a good effect.

    Effects of Kaixin capsule(开心胶囊) on p53 mRNA gene expression of myocardium in diabetic rats

    Abstract: Objective: To study the effects of Kaixin capsule(开心胶囊) on p53 mRNA gene expression of myocardium in diabetic rats. Methods: Diabetic rat model was established by steptozolin induced, and then randomly divided into control group, non-treated group, and Kaixin capsule treatment group. The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was done for determining the expression level of p53 mRNA in the rats with diabetes for 4 weeks and 8 weeks. Results: p53 mRNA expression in 8 weeks diabetic duration was significantly enhanced (P<0.05),but it was not found in 4 weeks. Administration of Kaixin capsule had a significant remission after its administration for 8 weeks (P<0.05). Conclusion: The enhanced expression of myocardial p53 mRNA may result from hyperglycemia in the diabetic state. Kaixin capsule may alleviate diabetic injury to myocardium through modifying the abnormally enhanced expression of p53 mRNA.

    Clinical effects on stable exertional angina treated by traditional Chinese and western medicine

    Abstract: Objective: To investigate the total effective rate of stable exertional angina treated by traditional Chinese and western medicine. Methods: One hundred and six patients with stable exertional angina from March 1996 to June 2000 were randomly divided into two groups, 54 cases were treated by traditional Chinese and western medicine (treatment group), 52 cases were treated by western medicine alone (control group). The period of treatment lasted 3 months. The curative effect was observed. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 94.4%,the total effective rate of the control group was 88.5%,and the difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.05). The total effective rates of ischemic electrocardiogram in treatment group were supeior to those in control group(both P<0.05). Conclusion: It is effective for the stable exertional angina treated by traditional Chinese and western medicine.

    Clinical study of therapeutic effect of naloxone in acute cerebral infarction

    Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of naloxone in acute cerebral infarction. Methods: Eighty-eight cases were randomly divided into naloxone group (trial group) and nicholine group (control group). The effect of naloxone and the changes of neurological deficit scale score at 14 days after treatment were evaluated. Results: The effective rate and the total effective rate in trial group were 67.9% and 85.7% as compared with control group(31.3% and 68.8%),there were significantly difference between the two groups (P<0.01 andP<0.05). After treatment,neurological deficit scale scores in trial group were significantly lower than those in control group. Conclusion: Our study suggest that naloxone is effective and safe for acute cerebral infarction, with promoting neurological recovery., 百拇医药
