    The effect Cangzhikeliji on gastric mucosal injury induced by ischemia-reperfusion

    Abstract

    AIM
To study the relationship between the gastric mucosal injury reduced by ischemia-reperfusion (IR) and OFR, and the protective effect Cangzhikeliji (a formula composed of 11 kinds of traditional Chinese herbal medicine) on gastric mucosa.

    METHODS The gastric mucosal injury was produced in rats by applying a small clamp to the celiac artery for 30 min and by removal of the clamp for 60 min. Then the rats were killed, gastric mucosa removed and SOD, LPO, CAT, GSH-PX, PGE2 and NPSH were detected.

    RESULTS LPO levels of gastric mucosa in IR rats were significantly higher, SOD (82.7NU/mg±17.0NU/mg), NPSH (0.22mmol/mg±0.05mmol /mg) and GSH-PX (18.7U/mg±2.2U/mg) levels were lower than that in control group (P<0.01). LPO levels of gastric mucosa in the rats given Cangzhikeliji before operation were much lower, SOD (146.5NU/mg±47.4NU/mg), NPSH (0.43mmol/mg±0.08mmol/mg) and GSH-PX (24.2U/mg±5.7U/mg) levels were significantly higher than that in IR rats (P<0.05, P<0.01). And there were no significant differences in PGE2 and CAT levels of gastric mucosal among various groups. ......
