Immunohistochemical study on dendritic cells in gastric mucosa of patients with gastric cancer and precancerous lesions

Abstract
AIM To investigate the effect of dendritic cell (DC) on gastric mucosal immunity from expressions of S100, HLA-DR, CD4 and CD8 in human gastric mucosa.
METHODS A total of 236 patients had gastric cancer (GC,n=143), chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG,n=41), dysplasia (Dys,n=15) and intestinal metaplasia (IM, n=27), and normal control group (n=10). All subjects were diagnosed with endoscopy and histopathology. The number, mean area and absorbance of S100+, HLA-DR+, CD4+ and CD8+ cells were detected by HE and immunohistochemical (SP method) staining and image analysis. ......
