Stereologic study on duodenal epithelium of mouse fetuses

Abstract
AIM To understand the histogenesis of duodenal epithelium of mouse fetuses.
METHODS ICR mouse fetal duodenum aged 11-19 days was observed under light microscope. The epithelial and cavity area (EA, CA) and the density of epithelial, mitotic and apoptotic cells (DEC, DMC and DAC) in the near pylorus of duodenal segment (D1), the proximal and distal segments of duodenal papilla (D2, D3) during 11-15 days were measured by stereologic method. Apoptotic cells in some sections were labeled by TUNEL method. ......
