Abstract
AIM To study the relationship of the GST-π and the biological behavior, the expression of P-gp, Top-Ⅱ and nm23H1 in gastric carcinoma.
METHODS GST-π, P-glycoprotein, Top-Ⅱ and nm23H1 were detected in 66 cases of the primary gastric carcinoma using immuno histochemical catalyzed signal amplification.
RESULTS The positive rates of GST-π, P-glyco protein, Top-Ⅱ and nm23H1 were 82%, 77%, 50% and 58% respectively. Significant relationships were found between GST-π or Top-Ⅱ expression and histological type of gastric carcinoma (χ2=6.45 and χ2=5, P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between GST-π expression and lymph node metastasis (χ 2=10.048, P<0.01) and a reverse co rrelation between nm23 expression and lymph node metastasis. The progression of gastricarcinoma was correlated with the high expression of GST-π, P-glycoprotein and nm23H1. The high GST-π and P-glycoprotein expression was correlated with the survival of less than three years(χ2=9.506, P<0.01 and χ2=8.439, P<0.01), but high expression of nm23 was correlated with a survival of more than three years (χ2=10.89, P<0.01). ......
