    AbstractAIM:To study effects of quasi-species heterogeneity of hepatitis B virus (HBV) on response to interferon(IFN)-a therapy.

    METHODS:Serum quasi-species heterogeneity of HBV in 20 patients (10 responders and 10 non-responders) with chronic hepatitis B before administration of IFN-a was detected with conformation-sensitive gel electrophoresis (CSGE),and the relationship between response to IFN-a and quasi-species heterogeneity of HBV was analyzed. ......
