AbstractAIM: To investigate the effects of captopril on the expression ofMMP-2,3 and TIMP-2, 3 in rat hepatic fibrosis.
METHODS:Forty healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: normalcontrol group, experiment group A,experiment group B, captopril-preventiongroup, captopril-treatment group. Hepatic fibrosis models were induced inthe latter 4 groups by a combination of several factors. Liver sectionswere stained by hematoxylin-eosin and Van Gieson to evaluate the degree ofinflammation and hepatic fibrosis. Expression of MMP-2, 3 and TIMP-2, 3 inliver were assayed by immunohistochemistry. ......
