Aims and Scope
Pharmaceutical Development and Technology will explore the research, design, development, manufacture, and evaluation of traditional and novel drug delivery with an emphasis on practical solutions and applications to theoretical and research-based problems. The journal will be the forum for preformulation evaluations, formulation research, drug delivery design, process engineering, quality control procedures, and regulatory aspects of product development and manufacturing as applied to traditional pharmaceutical entities and to the products of biotechnology, genetherapy, and transgenic animals and plants.
While the journal will accommodate the classical field of pharmaceutical technology, it will be open to new developments in controlled drug delivery and targeting from a technical and mechanistic view. At the manufacturing level, there will bean emphasis on statistical optimization techniques, process development, technology transfer, validation and design, and operation of pilot facilities. Pharmaceutical Development and Technology will demand and maintain the highest standards not only in the scientific manuscripts, but also in the production of the journal. Originality, high scientific quality, and interest to those involved in the development of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products will be essential criteria for publication.
Contributions to the journal will include Research Articles, Technical Notes, Review Articles, and Editorial Commentary. Additionally, special articles on regulatory issues and open forums with the FDA as they relate to pharmaceutical development and process activities will be considered.
