    【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate the application of percutaneous nephrostomy(PCN)in the diagnosis and treatment of pyonephrosis.Methods 63cases of pyonephrosis treated with PCN were reviewed，and discussed in the light of literature.Results The diagnosis of63cases was confirmed by PCN.Among them，5cases received nephrecˉtomy，43pyelolithotomy or ureterolithotomy，5ureteropelvioplasty，3ureteroplasty.Of5cases received second stage opˉeration after keeping nephrostomy for3～10months，2nephrectomy，3ureterolithotomy.1dead，1keeping nephrostoˉmy.Conclusion PCN was a safe，quick and effective diagnostic method ......
