【摘要】 目的 通过对重庆市不同地区、不同类型的15家医院1997～2001年医疗纠纷的发展状况的调查分析，研究重庆市医疗纠纷的现状及发展趋势。方法 通过问卷调查的方法对重庆市不同地区的15家医院(三级医院6家、二级医院7家、一级医院2家)1997～2001年医疗发展纠纷状况进行比较分析。结果 5年来重庆市医疗纠纷发展的呈现出逐年上升的趋势;重庆主城区医院的年均医疗纠纷发生率同比最高，而三峡库区和渝西地区则低于全市平均水平;医疗纠纷的发生量、发生率与医院的等级呈现正相关的趋势;医疗纠纷申请医疗事故鉴定的比例偏低;医疗纠纷主要通过医患双方协商处理。结论 尽管自1997年来医疗纠纷呈逐年上升的趋势，但与经济发达地区相比，重庆市医疗纠纷的发生现状并不突出，随着时间的推移，医疗纠纷急剧增加的趋势将趋于平缓。
