Abstract： The improvement of functional recovery after peripheral nerveinjuries is still the aim in the future. Nerve repair at the level of spinal cord appearedas a new but challenging technique. The better understanding of regeneration from neuronsand further refinement of instruments may push the brachial plexus surgery to a new level.Sensory and motor differentiated nerve coaptation plays an important role in the freeneurovascular muscle transplantation due to the significance of motor axons for the flap reinnervation. The sutureless techniques with fibrin glue or laser welding seems to beonly an adjunction in nerve repair because the connection quality between nerve stumps isunreliable.
