Field epidemiologists will be trained at high cost
Not long ago, the first term of Chinese Field Epidemiologist Training Program (CFETP) formally started at the Ministry of Health . Forty outstanding epidemiologists home and aboard were specially invited as the instructors; through a practical training of two years, a group of epidemiologists with high technology will be fostered for field management of great epidemics and other emergencies of public health. The expense for the training period of two years was estimated at US $600,000.
This measure is highly appreciated by the circle of Chinese Public Health and the related international organizations. The commencement of CFETP is considered as an important event in the history of public health of China worthwhile of extraordinary congratulation; it also serves as a landmark for the Chinese Public Health joining the path of internationalization.
