【Abstract】 AIM: To find the value of the realtime biplane imaging in observing the dynamic changes of percutaneous microwave coagulation in freshly dissected dog’s liver. METHODS: Different microwave power (40 W, 50 W, 60 W and 70 W) and time (60 s, 80 s, 100 s, 120 s, 140 s and 160 s) were used to coagulate freshly dissected dog’s livers and the microwave antenna was guided by traditional ultrasound and the dynamic process was lively observed by realtime biplane ultrasound imaging. RESULTS: The local coagulation area was lively observed from two different angle planes by the realtime biplane ultrasound imaging and the pathological slice, no significant difference was found in the coagulation size measured by the two methods biplane (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: The realtime biplane ultrasound imaging can lively observe the process of percutaneous microwave coagulating in freshly dissected dog’s liver from two different angels. ......
