【Abstract】 AIM: To explore NFκB expression in liver carcinoma tissues and its correlation with the pathological stage of cancer tissues and the expression of Bcl2. METHODS: By means of immunohistochemical SABC method, the expressions of NFκB and Bcl2 were compared between the hepatocellular carcinoma tissues from 40 cases and normal liver tissues from 15 cases. RESULTS: The positive expression and the strong positive expression of NFκB in the liver cancer group and the control group were 72%, 13% (P<0.01) and 30%, 7% (P<0.05) respectively, both with significant difference. The positive expression and strong positive expression of Bcl2 were 40%, 7% (P<0.05) and 17%, 0 respectively. The positive expression of NFκB was significantly different for different pathological grades (P<0.01) and the expression of Bcl2 was closely related to NFκB (r=0.389, P=0.013). CONCLUSION: The abnormal expression of NFκB is closely associated with the development of liver cancer and the expression of NFκB is significantly different for different pathological grades. NFκB is closely related to Bcl2, which indicates that NFκB is involved in the antiapoptosis of liver cancer cell by mediating antiapoptosis gene. ......
