【Abstract】 AIM: To evaluate the intrapulmonary expression of ICAM1 mRNA and its relationship with acute lung injury in acute severe pancreastitis (ASP). METHODS: Rats were sacrificed at 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 h after inducing ASP model and lung tissues were obtained for pathological study, microvascular permeability, dry/wet ratio and MPO examination. Gene expression of ICAM1 in lung tissue was detected by RTPCR. RESULTS: After inducing ASP model, gene expression of ICAM1 in the lung rose gradually after 1 h and reached the peak at 9 h (P<0.05), accompanied with gradual increase of microvascular permeability, dry/wet ratio and MPO activity. CONCLUSION: Severity of lung injury can be predicted by the overexpression of ICAM1 gene in ASP rats. ......
