【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the migration and invasiveness of monocytes cocultured with osteosarcoma cells. METHODS: An in vitro monocytetumor cculture model was established, and the migration and invasiveness ability of human monocyte line Thp1 after coculture was measured by Transwell test and the MMP9 expression of monocytes was detected by gelatin zymography. RESULTS: Migration and invasiveness of Thp1 cells after coculture were enhanced after coculture with osteosarcoma cells (P<0.01) and gelatin zymography showed that the expression of MMP9 in Thp1 supernatant also increased. CONCLUSION: Osteosarcoma cells can alter the migration and invasiveness of monocytes, probably by the induction of MMP9 expression.
