Expression of TM and VEGF in endometrial carcinoma and its significance

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the relationship of expression of TM and VEGF in endometrial carcinoma and the infiltration degree and the histological grading and to analyze the correlation between TM and VEGF. METHODS: The expression of TM and VEGF was detected immunohistochemically in 50 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma, 10 cases of endometrial complex hyperplasia and 10 cases of normal endometrium. RESULTS: The positive rates of TM and VEGF in endometrial carcinoma were both significantly higher than those in complex hyperplasia and normal endometrium (P<0.05). The expression of TM gradually decreased with the progress of clinical stage (P<0.05). There was no obvious relationship between the expression of TM and the histological grading, muscular invasion and patients¬ð age (P>0.05). The expression of VEGF had no relationship with clinical stage, histological grading, muscular invasion and patients¬ð age (P>0.05). No correlation between TM and VEGF was observed in endometrial carcinoma (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: TM and VEGF are associated with the occurrence of endometrial carcinoma. The expression level of TM is correlated with the metastasis of endometrial carcinoma and can be used as a new index for judging the progression and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma. ......
