Conservative therapies of severely damaged teeth

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To preserve severely damaged teeth such as stubbed tooth root, crown and vertically fractured tooth through composite therapies and to analyze the effects. METHODS: Thirtyª²nine teeth in 38 patients were treated by a series of methods including ligating, RCT, tooth semiª²extraction, toothª²rootª²resection, rootª²pin retention, post retention and ceramic crown restoration. After 6, 12 and 24 months of therapy, patients were recalled and the teeth were checked. RESULTS: One of the 39 teeth had its crown fallen because of badª²bonding at 6 months and 2 of the 29 teeth that were followed up suffered periodontal damage at 12 months and they regained normal function after treatment. All of the 18 teeth that were followed up functioned well at 24 months. CONCLUSION: Composite therapies of severely damaged teeth have very good curative effects and promising clinical value. ......
