     Research of ERP on mental rotation of Chinese characters

    【Abstract】 AIM: To observe the changes of P300's latency and amplitude when stimulated by Chinese characters. METHODS: The reaction time, error rate and eventrelated potentials (ERP) were recorded when 8 healthy male college students were tested by mental rotation task. RESULTS: With the increase of the rotation angle from 0° to 180°,the amplitude of P300 in parietal changed from (1501±256) μV to (1191±201) μV. The latency of P300 changed from (450±38) ms to (566±54) ms. CONCLUSION: Stimulated by unbalanced Chinese characters with the increase of rotation angle,the amplitude of P300 becomes more negative and the latency of P300 prolongs.
