     Study on mental adaptability inventory for military personnel

    【Abstract】 AIM: To develop a Mental Adaptability Inventory for Chinese military personnel (MAICMP). METHODS: Items and materials were collected by repertory grid method, and the item analysis, reliability testing and validity testing were performed, so as to construct a self marking scale. RESULTS: ① After factors analysis, 11 factors with eigenvalue more than 1 were extracted, which contained 130 items and accounted for 571% variance. ② These subtests α coefficient of internal consistency was more than 070, and the reliability coefficient of the testretest was over 070(P<001). ③ The discriminant validity between the trainees and the veterans was satisfactory (t= 412~3328, P<001),and the congruent validity between MAICMP and the 16PF and the SCL90 were 047~067(P<001). ④ On the basis of 22762 subjects data, the tentative norm was established. CONCLUSION: The MAICMP can be used in Chinese military personnel. ......
