     Mixed lymphocyte culture in vitro in monitoring acute rejection of cardiac transplantation

    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the use of mixed lymphocyte culture in noninvasive surveillance of acute rejection after cardiac transplantation. METHODS: We compared the results of modified mixed lymphocytes culture and endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) and analyzed the relationship of the activity of peripheral lymphocytes and myocardial biopsy grades. RESULTS: Modified mixed lymphocyte culture had a very close correlation with the incidence of rejection reaction, which was valuable for the early diagnose of rejection. CONCLUSION: Modified mixed lymphocyte culture can be used as a noninvasive method to efficaciously monitor acute rejection.
