     Effect of mitomycin C polybutylcyanoacrylate magnetic nanoparticles on human BEL7402 hepatoma cells transplanted BALB/c nude mice

    【Abstract】AIM: To study the targeting therapeutic effect of mitomycin C polybutylcyanoacrylate magnetic nanoparticles (MMCPBCAMNPS) on nude mice transplanted subcutaneously by Bel7402 cell lines. METHODS: Thirty nude mice transplanted subcutaneously by Bel7402 cell lines were randomly divided into six groups (n=5). Each group was given, through tail vein, mitomycin normal saline (MMC), MMCPBCAMNPS and saline as control respectively. The groups of MMCPBCAMNPS were divided into magnetic field and nonmagnetic field. Tumors were moved and weighted to calculate the ratio of tumor inhibition at the end of the treatment. RESULTS: Under the influence of an external magnetic field of 4950Gs close to tumors in vitro, the inhibition rate of tumor weight growth by MMCPBCAMNPS was 73.9% (low dosage), 84.2% (moderate dosage) and 88.6% (high dosage), respectively. The inhibition rate of tumor growth by MMCPBCAMNPS was 54.0% (moderate dosage) in nonmagnetic field, higher than that of MMC normal saline group(27.6%, P<0.05). The pathological examination confirmed the abovementioned results. CONCLUSION: MMCPBCAMNPS with an external magnetic field significantly increases the antitumor effects of MMC and decreases its side effects and cytotoxicity. ......
