Multivariate logistic regression analysis of risk factors for demodex infection in college students

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To probe into the risk factors for demodex infection in college students for the prevention and treatment of it. METHODS: The influential factors of demodex infection were tested in some college students of Grade ¢ñ-¢ô in Luoyang city in 2004 by the methods of transparent adhesive paste, questionnaire and logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: The positive demodex infection rate of the college students was 24.85% (84/338) and the multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the main factors causing demodex infection in college students were related to injury in face, annual family income per capita, habitual use of bath tools, types of soap chosen in face washing and their majors. CONCLUSION: The demodex infection in college students is closely related to their skin conditions, and social and behavioral factors. ......
