Nitinol patellar concentrator in the treatment of patellar fracture in anteroposterior axes: 18 cases report

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To find a reliable treatment for patellar fracture in anteroposterior axes, a kind of rare fracture. METHODS: Eighteen patients with patellar fracture in anteroposterior axes were treated with nitinol patellar concentrator (NTª²PC) and the treatment and the therapeutic effect were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: Followª²up found that the fractures healed in all the 18 patients in 6-24 months. The healing time was 6-11 weeks with an average of 8 weeks. CONCLUSION: NTª²PC can antagonize the tensile stress of patellofemoral joint and sustain the normal extent of center rotation in knee joint and force arm of quadriceps femoris and has good therapeutic effect in treating patellar fracture in anteroposterior axes. ......
