【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the changes of the invasive potential induced by 60Co γray external irradiation of human PC3 prostatic cancer cell. METHODS: The cultured PC3 cell proliferation was performed using MTT and the clony formation was measured in soft agar, and the expressions of MMP2 and MMP9 (matrix metalloproteinases2 and matrix metalloproteinases9) were performed using WesternBlot before and after irradiation with 1Gy, 3Gy, 5Gy dose 60Co γray. RESULTS: ① PC3 cell proliferation was significantly inhibited by 60Co γray external irradiation at the dose of 1Gy, 3Gy and 5Gy. ② PC3 cell clony ratio decreased following the increasing dose of 60Co γray. ③ Western Blot showed MMP9 overexpression after irradiation with the 60Co γray, but MMP2 showed a downtrend. CONCLUSION: The overexprssion of MMP9 in PC3 cells suggests that the ability of survival prostatic carcinoma cells migration and invasiveness is enhanced by the sublethal irradiation. ......
