     Effects of effective extractive of Longteng Capsule on inflammation and immune reaction in rats

    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the therapeutic effects of the effective extractive of Longteng Capsule on inflammation and immune reaction in rats. METHODS: Three types of inflammatory animal models were used: acute inflammatory edema of paws, Freunds adjuvant arthritis and chronic granuloma. T cell subpopulation in rats was measured by flow cytometry. ELISA assays were performed to determine serum IL1β and IL2. RESULTS: The extractive inhibited the edema of inflammatory tissue, relieved adjuvant arthritis and inhibited chronic granuloma. Arthritis score was (4.1±0.3) on 27 d. The serum IL1β and IL2 levels were significantly reduced to (60±6) and (175±90) μg/kg. CONCLUSION: The extractive of Longteng Capsule has some immunosuppressive and antiinflammatory effects on the experimental models used in our study, possibly by reducing the release of cytokines such as IL1β and other inflammatory mediators. ......
