Morphologic structure of lymphatic vessels in anal pecten of rats¬ð rectum

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To observe the distribution and morphologic features of lymphatic vessels in anal pecten of rats¬ð rectum and to study the morphological foundation of lymphous transport mechanism of big molecule substance. METHODS: The lymphangial configuration was observed under a light microscope and a transmission electron microscope by using semiª²thin sections and ultraª²thin sections technique respectively. RESULTS: There were comparatively plentiful capillary lymphatic vessels in the dermal papilla layer, reticular layer, hypodermis and interª²muscles. There were many vesicles in the endothelial cells of capillary lymphatic vessels. The three kinds of endothelial cell junctions were overlappingª²junctions, embeddingª²junctions and endª²toª²endª²type junctions. CONCLUSION: The distribution of lymphatic vessels in anal pecten of rats¬ð rectum is similar to that in cutis. There are two ways for big molecule substance transporting: vesicle system and openingª²junction of endothelial cells. ......
