Comparison between images of threeª²dimensional reconstruction of digital virtual pancreas and traditional profiles of anatomy

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To compare the images of the threeª²dimensional reconstruction of the pancreas with profiles of the traditional teaching materials so as to provide more precise anatomical data for surgery and anatomical study. METHODS: Threeª²dimensional reconstruction images of the pancreas based on the Virtual Chinese Humanª²F1 were used and compared with the traditional anatomical profiles. RESULTS: There were some distinct differences between the pancreas images of the threeª²dimensional reconstruction and the profiles of traditional teaching materials for anatomy. The threeª²dimensional reconstruction images were more precise and easier to understand. CONCLUSION: Virtual images, more precise in displaying the accurate structure of the human body, is a new approach to anatomical teaching and learning. ......
