    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the relationship between chronic hyperplastic chorditis and carcinomatous changes. METHODS: One hundred and fifteen cases of chronic hyperplastic chorditis in the aged were detected under fibrolaryngoscope and specimens were obtained for pathologic examination through nasal cavity. The specimens were fixed by 40 g/L formaldehyde, routine sliced, HE stained, sealed by neutrality gum and observed under light microscope. RESULTS: Canceration was found in 4 cases (3.48%) and the other 111 cases were confirmed as chronic chorditis. CONCLUSION: Chronic hyperplastic chorditis of the elderly patients may cancerate. Great attention should be paid to chronic hyperplasic chorditis on single vocal cord in elderly patients. ......
