Diagnostic value of thrombus precursor protein and homocysteine in prethrombotic state

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore the diagnostic value of prethrombotic thrombus precursor protein (TpP) and homocysteine (tª²Hcy) in patients with heart and brain diseases who are suspected of cardiac and cerebral embolism. METHODS: Plasma vWF, GMPª²140, tª²PA, PAI, TAT, TpP, Dª²Dimer and tª²Hcy were measured by ELISA. Plasma PT, APTT and Fg were measured by autoª²instrument ACLª²2000. RESULTS: Among the 60 patients under study, the plasma levels of vWF, GMPª²140, tª²PA, PAI, TAT, Dª²Dimer, TpP and tª²Hcy in prethrombotic state with heart and brain diseases were significantly higher than those in controls (P©‚0.001). TpP and tª²Hcy were more sensitive than other parameters. No significant difference was found in plasma PT, APTT and Fg before and after cardiac embolism and cerebral embolism (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: vWF, GMPª²140, tª²PA, PAI TAT, PAP, Dª²Dimer, TpP, tª²Hcy are good biomarkers in assessing the prethrombotic state of patients with heart and brain diseases. High level of TpP and tª²Hcy are helpful to predict the cardiac and cerebral embolism. ......
