Clinical observation of tranquilization period of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease treated by integration of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore the treatment effect of the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients in the tranquilization period. METHODS: Randomized controlled trial was conducted. Sixtyª²three COPD cases in the tranquilization period from our respiratory clinic were divided into two groups and were given basic western medical treatment. One of the groups, the treatment group, was also given Yupingfeng Granule, Bailing Capsules and Jianpiyifei Powder for 3 months. RESULTS: The treatment group was better than the other group in the sixª²minute walk distance, the score of quality of life and the times of acute exacerbation (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in pulmonary function between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Integrated treatment of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, with mild adverse reaction and good compliance, can improve the quality of life, enhance the walking endurance and lessen the times of acute exacerbation. ......
