     Singlesource drive patterns for brain electrical impedance tomography

    【Abstract】 AIM: To seek a singlesource drive pattern which is more suitable for brain electrical impedance tomography (EIT). METHODS: In accordance with the characteristics of brain resistivity distribution and data acquisition system, we compared adjacent, cross, polar and newly proposed quasipolar drive patterns of dynamic range, number of independent measurement, total marginal voltage changes and antinoise performance in an equivalent circuit model of the brain resistivity distribution consisting of 7300odd resistors. RESULTS: The quasipolar drive pattern was optimal in all aspects except the dynamic range. Polar and cross drive patterns and adjacent drive pattern followed in a descending order. CONCLUSION: The quasipolar drive pattern is the most suitable pattern for brain EIT. ......
