    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To measure the seven factors of Chinese personality dimensions by the Chinese Personality Adjective Scale (QZPAS), a shortª²version adjective scale. METHODS: A total of 1746 workers, farmers, businessmen and students were tested with QZPAS and 1511 valid questionnaires were retrieved. The rate of recovery was 86.54%. RESULTS: ¢Ù The results of the 123ª²item QZPAS from the 1511 completed questionnaires were analyzed and 7 factors were identified by factor analysis. After canceling the items of low communality and loading, a shortª²versioned Chinese Personality Adjective Scale, named QZPASª²SF, was established. ¢Ú The discriminations of the 60 items of QZPASª²SF were 0.47-0.73 and ¦Á coefficients of the 7 factors were 0.51-0.65. ¢Û Testª²retest reliabilities were 0.52-0.83. ¢Ü Criterion validities of QZPASª²SF were found to be significantly different between different groups (P<0.01) and there was a high consistency between the results of selfª²rating and otherª²rating. CONCLUSION: The reliabilities and validities of QZPASª²SF are found to be sound by comparisons and analyses between test results. ......
