Development of voice data management program for blood analyzer and its application in outpatient laboratory blood examination

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To design a voice data management program with Chinese pronunciation and use it in the blood analyzer in Outpatient Department. METHODS: The database/table was designed by Microsoft Access 2000. The communication ActiveX component, MsComm, and the Windows Chinese Speech API function were used respectively for the data receiving from the blood analyzer and the Chinese pronunciation. Codes of all objects were translated into an executive file and setup files with Visual Basic 6.0 tool kit. RESULTS: All data obtained from 100 000 samples were saved safely and accurately in the database/table and no error occurred in the program running. The Chinese pronunciation was clear. CONCLUSION: This voice data management program with Chinese pronunciation is effective and flexible in managing the data from blood analyzer, which helps to improve the standardization of laboratory blood examination reports in Outª²patient Department. ......
