Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical use of carotid angioplasty and stenting(CAS)for carotid artery stenosis under protected devices.Methods 30embolic protection devices and34self-expandable stents were used in the treatment of30patients with carotid artery stenosis.Results 96.7%of stent were successfully implanted without major complications or minor stroke during and after the treatment.Follow-up Doppler color imaging did not find asymptomatic re-stenosis in24pa-tients3months after the treatment.Conclusion CAS under protected devices is a safe and effective method to treat carotid artery stenosis.The long-term effect needs to be further observed，and treatment technique and materials awaits a further im-provement.
