【Abstract】AIM: To discuss the effects of methylprednisolone on C9 and CD59 expression in rat acute spinal cord injury tissue.METHODS: SD rat acute spinal cord injury models were established by Allens assay.The expression sites and time phase of C9 and CD59 positive reactants were observed in methylprednisolone group and normal saline group at 12 h,1,3,5 and 7 d after injury and the differences between the two groups were differentiated.RESULTS: C9 positive expression in methylprednisolone group at each time point was significantly less than that in normal saline group (P< 0.05).CD59 expression in methylprednisolone group at 12 h,1 and 3 d after injury was significantly less than that in normal saline group (P< 0.05) and there was no obvious difference between the two groups at 5 d and 7 d after injury.CONCLUSION: Methylprednisolone can relieve secondary spinal cord injury by inhibiting the activation of the complement system. ......
