Origin:
Small Yellow Fish (Pseudosciaena polyactis Rich.), Large Yellow Fish (Pseudosciaena crocea), of family Sciaenidae.
Small yellow fish is one of the most popular traditional fish species in China, Korea and Japan. Yellow fish are exclusively caught in the southeastern China sea and the Yellow Sea. Maximum length is about 30 cm.
Large yellow fish's distribution is also similar to that of small yellow fish. Maximum length is about 50 cm.
Also called Yellow Croaker.
Properties:
Sweet in flavor, mild in nature, it is related to the channels of the spleen and stomach.
