Effects of matrix metalloproteinaseª²9 on the expression of tumor necrosis factor receptorª²1 in human colon carcinoma cell lines

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the effects of matrix metalloproª²teinaseª²9 (MMPª²9) on the expression of tumor necrosis factor receptorª²1 (TNFRª²1) and migratory and invasive potentials in human colon carcinoma cells. METHODS: Immunofluorescence staining was applied to examine the expression of TNFRª²1 in SW1116 in human colon carcinoma cell lines. The expression of TNFRª²1 was assayed by flow cytometry in human colon carcinoma SW1116 cells treated with MMPª²9 at different concentrations and at different time periods of culture. RESULTS: TNFRª²1 was expressed in SW1116 cells and MMPª²9 downª²regulated the expression of TNFR1 on cell surface in a doseª² and timeª²depenª²dent manner. CONCLUSION: MMPª²9 decreases the expression of TNFR1 on the surface of human colon carcinoma cells£¬ which may be a factor associated with invasive and metastasis potentials of colon carcinoma. ......
