Abstract
AIM: To investigate the expression of Semapho-rin6D in gastric carcinoma and its significance.
METHODS: The mRNA and protein expression of Semaphorin6D was detected by semi-quantity reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot, respectively, in 30 cases of gastric carcinoma and normal mucosa.
RESULTS: The expression of Semaphorin6D was significantly higher in gastric carcinoma than that in the normal mucosa both at mRNA and protein level (0.24 ± 0.06 vs 0.19 ± 0.07, P = 0.013; 0.26 ± 0.09 vs 0.20 ± 0.10, P = 0.0194).
CONCLUSION: Semaphorin6D may play an important role in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma.
