Determination the formaldehyde remnant in phenoxymethylpenicillin V potassium by RPª²HPLC

¡¾Abstract¡¿ Objective To test the formaldehyde remnant in phenoxymethylpenicillin V potassium. Methods The formaldehyde remnant in phenoxymethylpenicillin V potassium was detected by derivative method combined with RPª²HPLC.Results It appeared a good linearity in the experimental concentration(r: 0.99997). The accuracy was 99.6% and the precision was 0.92%.Resolution for the formaldehyde chromatograph peak and the neighboring chromatograph peak was 15.5, 7.1 respectively. The number of theoretical plates of the formaldehyde chromatograph peak was 15622 and linearity correlated coefficient was 0.99997.Conclusions This method is accurate, repeatable and practicable, which could be successfully used for the detection of the formaldehyde remnant of phenoxymethylpenicillin V potassium. ......
