    ABSTRACTCurcumin is anatural yellwpigment，anatural phenolic antioxidant extractedfromtherhizomesof Curcuma longa andCurcumaeRhizomaofthegingerfamily，withanti-inflammatory，anti-tumorandantioxidant properties.Inrcentyears，ithas beenfoundthatcurcuminalsohasgoodantidepressantproperties，nditisconsideredasafeandefectiveantidepressntpotential drug.Themechanismofcurcumin'santidepressanteficacymainlyincludesregulatingneurotransmiters，modulatingthe hypothalamic-pitaryadrealaxis，egulatingbaidriedeurotropicctoribiinguroflammationibiigidatie stress，andregulatinggutmicrobiota，etc.andthereisanoverlappngandsynergistictherapeuticefectoftheabove mehanisms. Atpresent，theantidepressantmechanismofcurcuminisstillnotfullyunderstod，andwillbecombinedwithmulti-omics technology，new formulation technology，and clinical trials to obtain further breakthroughs in the future.
