Trade Structure of China and Mexico Manufacturing Goods and Their
Competitiveness in the American Market

Abstract：The paper chooses Lawrence Index and Beneficiary Index to analyze trade structure of China and Mexico，and selects Revealed Comparative Advantage Index，Revealed Comparative Advantage Change Index and Competitive Advantage Index to make a contrast analysis of competitiveness of China and Mexico manufacturing goods in the American market. The results indicate that optimization level of trade structure of Mexico manufacturing goods is higher than that of China， and the competitiveness of China′s manufacturing products in the U.S. market is stronger than those of Mexico. China′s export trade structure has almost finished the upgrading of breadth， so the main task now is the depth of transformation and upgrading. Only if we reasonably adjust industrial structure based on present competitive advantage， can China continue manufacturing goods′ competitive advantage.
