    In order that all members of the Marketing Department clearly understand the sunglasses and accessories market, including the related competitors , Jackson Wu, the Marketing Manager of Notson Limited, has prepared a presentation using detailed figures and vivid diagrams.

    为了让大家对包括太阳镜在内的装饰品市场和相关的市场竞争对手情况有个更清晰的了解,诺森公司市场部经理Jackson Wu打算用更具体的数字和更形象的图表来给大家做简报。

    Part 1 Using Figures and Numbers

    数据与数字

    一般来说,统计数字可以增加演示文稿的可信度。而Jackson早就准备好以一连串的数字来说服他们。他成功的主要因素之一就是能有效地运用各种统计数字与数据。

    Jackson :So we need to know at what areas to direct our advertising. Now we have certain statistics on the accessories market in China. The group who spend most on accessories are urban female 24-29. The money they spend ① makes up 35% of the total yearly sales for the market. Next we have women in the older group 30-35 with a market contribution of 23%. Men aged 24-29 ② account for 14%. Of course these figures reflect the ③ spending power of these groups. As younger people in China gain more economic power we expect them to become more of a factor as they are in markets elsewhere. Anyway, it is clear from this research where we have to target our advertising and shall be taking proposals from different firms in the near future. At the same time, we need to ④ break the figures down even further. How much money are these people spending is perhaps the pertinent question at this juncture. Well, quite a lot and the good news is its growing quickly. Our figures show that the accessories market has been growing at an average rate of 7% for the last 5 years. If this growth continues for another 5 years then by 2008 the market could be worth S500 million. ......
