Denmark is mainly comprised of Jylland, a peninsula extending from northern Germany, Sjælland, located on the eastern side of Jylland, and Fyn, a small island in between the two regions. Additionally, Greenland and the Faroe Islands fall under the jurisdiction of Denmark. Approximately 5.43 million people live in this country of continuously flat land whose highest altitude only reaches 173m.
