    奥运会开幕式往往令人记忆深刻，点燃奥运圣火的自然也就成为开幕式的亮点，也是奥运会开幕前奥组委必须严守的秘密。奥运一路走来，至今还令人记忆犹新的应该是点燃96年亚特兰大奥运圣火的拳王阿里了。

    It was a classic moment in Olympics history when former boxer Muhammad Ali lit the cauldron with shaking hands during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Stricken with Parkinson's disease, Ali was chosen from among a large number of U.S. sports super stars. Ali, once a fearsome figure in the ring, continued to symbolize man's iron will. Given that the Olympic Committee had long regarded boxing as a harmful sport, the decision to appoint Ali was a surprising one. Holding the torch in unsteady hands, Ali lit the cauldron to thunderous applause that expressed the admiration and respect of the onlookers.
