    The most popular time to visit St. Petersburg is during the famed White Nights period, from June to early July. This is truly a magical time, when the sun never sets and the city is bathed in the golden glow of twilight from late evening until early morning. Walking the streets, which are still packed with people, at 3am in the morning in this luminous light is a surreal experience. Outside of summer, the best time to visit is in February. Although it is bitterly cold, the end of winter sees bright, sunny days which make the thick covering of snow sparkle brilliantly.
