    前些天做剪报的时候无意中看到有关美国北伊利诺伊大学发生枪击事件的报道，怎么一个自称自由安全的国家让人如此没有安全感呢？为什么在其它国家都禁止的枪支在美国如此横行呢？

    我当时看到这个消息也觉得心情很沉重。但是枪支的拥有权在美国是受到法律保护的，这和美国的历史密切相关，不过近年来由于枪支暴力越演越烈，关于是否限制使用枪支的讨论也接近白热化。下面我就美国历史和美国国民对枪支的看法来讲讲美国的枪支文化。

    No matter how hard we try, it seems we can't get away from guns. We see them every day: in movies, television shows, and video games. We read about them in the newspapers, and watch little children run around playing with plastic replicas. In short, modern society has come to completely embrace the humble firearm, making it an iconic part of modern popular culture.
