    Shanghai Animation Film Studio is the animation division of the Shanghai Film Group Corporation in Shanghai, China.

    Originally created in 1946 in Heilongjiang Province, the studio was the first established by the Communist Party and was made the central government's official animation factory in 1957. With noted directors such as the Wan brothers on the books, the studio, by now called the Shanghai Picture Studio Group, produced some of China's greatest cartoons of the period.
